Call your senator! I will be tuning into this public hearing. As a nurse at the bedside it can be difficult to bridge the gap between patient care & health policy.
I’m certain grassroots orgs such as @TogetherWeMask are key to challenging nurses/HCP to engage beyond the bedside.

Three years ago we clapped and cheered for our healthcare heroes as they literally risked their lives during a pandemic. Now nurses are forced to strike to seek fair compensation and safer patient-staff ratios.
The whiplash is a lot.

We also need to be expanding NP roles. I think centralizing care on hospital units would be beneficial too. Each unit should have a resident Hospitalist and NP.

We cannot extra-shift our way out of the staffing crisis occurring in health care. @POTUS and @VP we need a plan now to retain and make new nurses and other HCWs across the board.
