Meet our newest pupil-elected Parliament Group. 🌟🗳️ They will work together over the next weeks/months to consider Pope Francis’s Laudato Si’ Themes: Simple Lifestyle and Ecological Economics. We will update you with some of our ideas after this afternoon’s meeting.☺️ #LaudatoSi
This month, we will continue to focus on Article 7 - all children have the right to a name and nationality.🌎💬This ties in with our focus on languages as we have Language Immersion on Wednesday and Colourful Countries on Friday. Please see below for more information on this.🇫🇷🇪🇸
Our Right of the Month is UNCRC Article 7: all children have the right to a name and belong to a country. At home, you could talk to us about our name, and why it is special/chosen for us. 💛 You could even tell us about where we were born and our family history in a country. 🌍
Today we had our Rights Respecting Rotation. We were learning about Article 28: I have the right to an education. We talked about how learners and teachers work together. We talked about what a good learner looked like and sounded like. Then we drew and labelled them!
Rights Respecting Rotation. Article 7 lesson. National identity, our names and why registering a child’s birth is important. Did you know millions of children across the world are not registered? #UNICEFrightsrespectingschool
During last weeks Rights Rotation morning, learners across P1,2&3 explored Article 24: I have the right to be as healthy as possible. They learned the importance of handwashing and observed how quickly germs can spread and the power of soap to help stop spreading them 🦠🧼🫧
Today, is ‘Wear-Something-Christmassy-Day’ for Strathcarron Hospice, an event organised by our second Pupil Parliament Group. 🎅🏼 🎄 If you are able to bring in a donation for this very special charity, close to our hearts, we would be really grateful. 💛 Thank you very much. 🙏🏼☺️
