@kevinroose Cool. Reminds me of the Pepsi Challenge in the 1970's and 80s. Pepsi won international blind taste tests among thousands of consumers because people preferred its sweet flavor in the moment. But only in small amounts. Hence the "sip fallacy."
Really enjoying @Parmy Olson's superb book on the story (and it's quite the story, with twists and turns aplenty) of how we got to where we are with #AI. Brilliantly written with a real knack for making complex science & history readable. @OpenAI@GoogleDeepMind
The Meta vision of AI — hologram Reelslop and AI friends keeping you company while you eat breakfast alone — is so bleak I almost can’t believe they’re saying it out loud.
The AI model that shocked Silicon Valley by doing more with less might be doing too little on safety, @parmy writes https://t.co/UFRKp6Dvgk via @opinion
Just finished reading Supremacy: ChatGPT and the Race to Change the World. 🌍🤖 @parmy It’s a fascinating dive into how AI is reshaping our future - highly recommended for anyone curious about tech and its impact on society. 📚
Years ago, when @parmy was at WSJ and I was at Meta, she asked a product manager from the content integrity team if he thought the company was doing enough on harmful content.
He replied that he was so sure of it, that he'd allow his teenage daughter to use the platform.
I wonder if he'd say the same after yesterday's announcement.
