Today, Cuttack mourns the passing of a legend. Raghu Babu, the iconic culinary custodian, soul chef of the city (Dahibara Aludam), served this city for 70 years—not just food, but love, memory, and identity.
He never changed his recipe. Never opened a shop. Never compromised. His sal leaf plates, his watery curd, his signature smile beneath the blue kurta—these were the symbols of a city’s soul.
Raghu wasn’t a vendor, never. He was Cuttack’s safehouse. A 20-minute interaction that could last you months. A friend who asked about your parents, your travels, your heart.
He’s gone now. And with him, a brick from the citadel has fallen.
Farewell, Raghu. You were the heritage maker of the city.
You’ll live on—in every bite, every memory, every hug of home.

Today the resplendent City of Temples is Rumpled. Sisupalgarh has been obliterated. Nandankanan is a part of a residential colony. Housing complexes are coming up in the middle of Chandaka. By 2030 there would be a shortfall of about half a million houses. Migration is endless. More than 550 slums. Young heritage researcher Deepak Nayak and Piyush Rout speak the truth. Pained with the city's unplanned, haphazard growth. The PM expects so much of and from Odisha/Bhubaneswar but are we doing enough to rise to the occasion? Create more urbanisation across the state and take the load off Bhubaneswar.

Was picked by @tataadvanced & trained to build Boeing aircraft frames. 7 years after, she is a supervisor with her own jig of workers. Next time you fly Boeing, think of Kalika Sahu.
