Today, I hosted H.E. Moses @engadu, Secretary-General of the Africa Minerals Strategy Group (AMSG) @africaminerals_ who paid me a courtesy visit at my office in Nairobi.
During our meeting, we discussed AMSG's initiatives to foster a unified African approach and consensus on critical minerals as well as the need for harmonized policies and strategic collaboration.
We also addressed the importance of involving Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions in developing the human resources necessary for value addition to our mineral resources which in turn will create jobs and wealth for local communities.
Furthermore, we explored the possibility of Kenya hosting an AMSG mining summit in December, aimed at bringing together key stakeholders and attracting large-scale investors to the sector.
In attendance were Mining Principal Secretaries @KimtaiHarry (Mining) and @PS_Betsy_Njagi (Blue Economy and Fisheries) as well as Mr. Patrick Mulindwa Lubega, the AMSG Chief of Staff and CEO of the Africa Responsible Mineral Sourcing Initiative (ARMSI). @MiBeMa_2022
