Fun fact: In 1855-1856, the Speaker election went on for 3 months and had 132 ballots before the house voted on a resolution to choose the speaker with plurality instead of majority. A speaker was finally elected on the 133rd ballot, that speaker was Know-Nothing Nathaniel Banks.
