@gm_skeptic The blurry line between simple atmosphere/ambiance vs ‘the holy spirit’ intrigued me at the time. But as worship leader i genuinely thought i was doing he right thing... now i am just glad i can help people see through the B.S.

Polls show 2/3 of Republicans believe the insurrection was a false flag operation, which is psychologically no different than believing the Earth is flat or that highly evolved dinosaurs who survived the asteroid now control world governments from a secret base on the moon. 1/10
@Hammerheart3 @Mel_is_fabulous True about it being a rule. But it has roots in the constitution. Also, still wonder whether the US constitution is really that different from our ‘grondwet’. But i am no layer and frankly not that interested in it 😄
@Hammerheart3 @Mel_is_fabulous Besides being able to buy assault rifles i believe i can do anything here in Holland just as much as in the states. And about equal opportunity, over here for instance we strive to give all citizens a good education. To me this doesn’t seem like a US only thing?
@Hammerheart3 @Mel_is_fabulous For your first part: i believe the legal drinking age is around 21 in the states right? This already conflicts with personal freedom. And i think this conflicts with your ‘absolute’ statement. To argue whether a rule system is objectively superior seems strange to me
@Hammerheart3 @Mel_is_fabulous I think this shows how complex the matter is. Given the amount of poverty in the US this system is not bringing out the best per se and is not providing equal grounds to ‘pursuit hapiness’. But i admit this spoken from a dutch point of view
@Mel_is_fabulous @Hammerheart3 Didn’t mean to lecture. I apologize for that. I’m a bit on the nervous because also here in holland i see division happening. So i’m trying out some things to hopefully bridge the gap every now and then.
@Mel_is_fabulous @Hammerheart3 I am still a bit puzzled by that attitude regarding one’s own country. Is this idea of the ‘supreme’ constitution taught at schools? Or would you say is it more close related to religion and community?
@Mel_is_fabulous @Hammerheart3 Hey Mel, if you want to have a constructive convo be careful with https://t.co/kLqcjfJrl5 original post is about nuance.ridiculing has never helped anyone.and i know a lot of ‘educated’ people who have no clue about the https://t.co/or5CVFyOwv please be kind to fellow humans
@riverotter1968 Agreed. (Altough our system has its issues as well)And thanks for this https://t.co/TsjVVLpKUC sharpened my thoughts on the hard matter of freedom of speech. Take care
@riverotter1968 Isn’t that reason why judges should be as impartial as possible?to counter absolute ruling. But i speak from a dutch perspective where there is not just 1 president wielding all power.we have multiple parties in place and seems to be in a better balance because of this
@riverotter1968 This i am note sure of and i need more time to think/talk/reflect. But unlimited freedom of speech has it’s problems as well. The way recent Trump and BLM quotes have been used to spark violent acts are proof to me that we need to have this discussion
@riverotter1968 This quote seems so be the exact thing the paradox is trying to show. However your quote is more geared towards how governments shouldn’t ban free speech. Poper’s paradox seems more about society in general which is different.
