@ThrillaRilla369 "for a month" <-- That is the fundamental misunderstanding of poverty. It's not about balancing this month's budget. It's the grinding down, the gradual loss of non-obvious resources that you can't afford to replace.
@alt_historian Even that wasn't required. They didn't need to do anything. Lincoln hadn't ended slavery. If they were concerned with growing abolitionist support, they could have negotiated a generational end to slavery on their own terms. Instead, they fantasised about founding a slave empire.
@illhp_mike@DoctorKarl Why not Facebook? If he's tried to get them to take them down and been told they "don't violate our policies", then they've assumed editorial responsibility and are culpable (IANAL). Plus they are easier to find than the scammers.
@StephenSkolnick@DrPhiltill "trillions of dollars in public expenditure"
Out of curiosity, without looking it up, how much money do you think NASA gets each year?
And what percentage of the US Federal budget do you believe it makes up?
@rogerapage@Aviation_Intel When starting with 500+ tonnes of propellant, a few tonnes in the tank when you cut the engines isn't a big deal. But a few tonnes of boom-juice is still a boom.
(And you don't want your engines to run out _before_ staging, so you always budget for plus not minus.)
@tillysnitch @MFWitches She's standing half-way back (relative to the camera) between Charles and William, and her height is just below the midpoint between the tops of their heads. But because you can't see her feet, you compare her with William/Harry, so she looks tiny.
[Similarly, Harry vs Edward.]
