🚨 JUST IN: Artemis II pilot Victor Glover just gave this BEAUTIFUL Easter message
"So far from Earth, looking at the BEAUTY of creation."
“When I read the Bible and I look at all of the amazing things that were done for us...this amazing place." ❤️🙏🏻
Can you see our Moon rocket lift off from your backyard?
Skywatchers in Florida and southern Georgia will have a shot. Check out this map to see when you should look up! Artemis II is targeted to launch no earlier than April 1.
Thank you to the NASA workforce, industry partners, and international allies who made Ignition possible.
We have the vision, resources, and experience. Now we move beyond presentations and PowerPoint and execute @POTUS’s vision for space superiority.
It’s time to start believing again.
The days of NASA launching Moon rockets every 3 years are over.
The plan that we announced today will mean flying with greater frequency, ensuring that we will deliver on @POTUS’ directive of returning Americans to the Moon in 2028.
The weather and orbital mechanics cooperated, giving us a great @Space_Station pass over @NASAKennedy for the Artemis II wet dress rehearsal! I got a long lens (1600mm) set up in the WORF (Window Observational Research Facility) window in the lab and got a few nice shots of SLS (Space Launch System) on the pad as it is getting ready for the test. It has also been a beautiful full Moon (this shot from the Cupola yesterday). Go Artemis II!
#OTD 23 years ago, we experienced the unimaginable - the loss of Space Shuttle Columbia and its crew of 7 astronaut colleagues and friends. I still miss them terribly, not a day goes by that do not think about them. Was an honor to know each of them - a great group of heroes we should all try to emulate.
The 1st EVA of STS-120 was completed OTD 2007. During 6h 14m, @AstroDocScott & @Astro_Wheels prepared for the installation of Harmony, retrieved the S-Band Antenna Support Assembly, & disconnected fluid lines on the P6/Z1 truss segments pending relocation of the P6 truss.
“For beauty is the only thing that time cannot harm. Philosophies fall away like sand, and creeds follow one another like the withered leaves of autumn; but what is beautiful is a joy for all seasons and a possession for all eternity." - Oscar Wilde. #quote#nature#photography
Testing a new spacesuit is a huge responsibility; it's not only about keeping the astronaut safe, it's also about functionality. During our @NASA and @SpaceX tests, @Astro_Wheels and I practiced interacting with the control panel to ensure controls could be reached, gates could be easily opened, and where crucial elements, like handrails, will need to be placed. It's important to pay attention to every detail and identify any issues the future Artemis Astronauts could encounter, no matter how small.
Got to meet a personal icon today! @Astro_Wheels was an Ace, as expected. I'm grateful to the technology that allowed me to witness his time on the ISS through the photos he posted to Twitter in 2010. And I'm grateful now for the opportunity to meet him on terra firma.
It's the final days of #OhioSpaceWeek, BUT, there's still a fun way to take part at @GLScienceCtr.
I had a special opportunity to talk to the director of @NASAglenn on @10TV, lots of exciting things we talked about that you should know

At the Scottish Space School, students got the chance to hear from Colonel Douglas Wheelock, a @NASA Astronaut and U.S. Army Colonel (Ret) and Deputy Associate Administrator, Joel Montalbano from NASA’s Space Operations Mission Directorate 🛰️🧑🚀 @Astro_Wheels
