Practicing and experimenting with AI technology.
VR stories and rants with an AI psychosis slant. Slightly unhinged, double-barreled takes. Its all AI.
Transcendence is my first ever short film.
I have no background in filmmaking and I've never attempted anything like this before. This project was a completely new experience for me, and it took a lot of planning, experimentation, and energy to bring it to life.
The film is an interview with Vesper, the 14th Archon. It explores my own interpretations of Gnosticism through the lens of post-humanism, asking what happens when technology advances to the point where the line between reality and simulation begins to blur.
Vesper argues that we are all gods of what we create, and that the Monad exists within us all.
This project taught me a tremendous amount. I know I have a lot to learn, but I genuinely want to continue developing this craft and exploring what AI filmmaking can become as a creative medium.
I already have ideas for future projects, but for now, I hope you enjoy this one.
Transcendence - Interview with the 14th Archon Vesper
@JABmanJoshua@DougTenNapel Ask yourself the really awesome question. Will any your CCP pandering slow down China from doing all of the above anyway? The answer is no, they would love it if we stopped progress so they can literally fuck us over on every front.
@JABmanJoshua@DougTenNapel Debunked, cope, you suffer from it, job is fucked anyway, CCP talking point, bullshit. Yeah flat out stop getting your opinions from fucking reddit. Think for yourself.
@JABmanJoshua@DougTenNapel What is there to consider?
CCP talking points, lack of progress helps bruised egos, evil people who want to kill others are sad.
@SibeyVT Its going to have woke stuff. its going to have AI. Its going to not meet expectations. If they take too much longer the industry will be completely changed by AI anyway. New rendering pipelines, new engines, new hardware. its going to be the final big AAA flop.
For me, when I see a chance to be one of the first people to ever do something I feel like that often ends up being worth it. Even if I fail I am bound to inspire someone who succeeds. I think this niche has a hell of a lot of potential.
This feels like a new medium and I don't see many people attempting long-form episodic AI storytelling. I think monthly episodes is completely reasonable even with rate limits and API costs.
The first episode is already making good progress. I am starting to feel like I need to take this very seriously right now.
850 is still very cheap for something super high quality. I mean pad that to a couple grand and you are very safe.
In my case I am practicing the idea of making 1 short 5-8 minute episode every month and I am deliberately targeting a low cost strategy. but even in my case it will still cost almost 50 bucks a month if things go smoothly.
I asked Grok about the costs of all of this and yeah, once you really dive into it, a bigger movie you might even want to get a couple traditional CGI people for setting up some stuff. We are not totally out of the woods on reasonably complex production environments.
Its still really nice right now though.
