@cityofwinnipeg I couldn’t get a good picture but at the intersection of Kenaston and academy the west-facing red-lamp (in the right-side signal in this photo) has burned out.
@cityofwinnipeg one of the neighborhood greenway barricades at Wellington Crescent and Renfrew is knocked down, presenting a hazard to drivers and cyclists. I tried calling 311 but the agent did not seem to understand the problem. Hope it can be put back up soon!
Whereas Winnipeg is spending $700M to widen 3 km of Kenaston Blvd, increasing conflict points between drivers & pedestrian & cyclists, all encouraging more driving. #winnipeg#wpgpoli
To the Liberals who are mad that left voters didn’t “get in line” and vote for Church. Maybe project some of that energy towards your own party.
This government had four years of a majority government to do away with FPTP after promising to do so.
These are the consequences.
@CBCNews I've heard your panellists live covering the byelection mention a couple times that there's not any barriers in place for candidates to get on the ballot. Just wanted to say that last I checked, candidates still need to collect 100 physical consent signatures from voters
Not having to share the road with drivers like this speeding teenager would have almost certainly prevented this tragedy.
It has everything to do with infrastructure, that's the "protected" part of protected bike lanes.
Must read as @ScottGillingham and others gloss over the assumptions made in the report about widening Kenaston - assumptions which reflect prioritization of some Winnipeggers over others. Be ready to be frustrated!
