The powerful earthquake that struck Panama is a heartbreaking reminder that, beyond the chessboard, we are all part of one human family.

The chess community has long brought together people from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds, united by our shared love of the game. Today, I hope we can stand together in a different way, with compassion, solidarity, and support for everyone affected by this tragedy.

My heart goes out to the people of Panama. I also think of our chess friends, players, coaches, organizers, and their families, who may be facing uncertainty and hardship right now. The chessboard may divide us into opponents, but humanity unites us as one family. ❤️♟️🇵🇦
