@BruceMcCurdy Oh... well... I've watched this 10 times. Hartman basically "leans" into Bouchard. His skates are just gliding. This is nothing & Bouchard tries to soak as victim. What.a.joke. 99% of hockey skaters are expecting this. Apparently Bouchard is in the 1%. Come tF on.
@FlyersNation It's just bonkers that Torts' thinks singling out guys' mistakes, esp 'in game', does ANYTHING good for them. He's simply making imperfect players the reason for the team's lack of success. All players are imperfect at times.
@AdjustedHockey The guys at https://t.co/fjLeRkPxzs should have a few public podcasts where they revisit hits & misses from 2019 draft. It's covered there. Just looking at recent drafts vs 2016-2020, it's a very obvious trend in GM drafting - smaller D are getting drafted much lower in count.
@racheldoerrie Binnington is the real deal and >>> Thompson. I don't get leaving Thompson off the team... but he's not better than Binnington.
@PunkRockSean@AdjustedHockey ^This is correct. It's evidenced in the players getting drafted in recent drafts as well. Smaller D are out, unless they are absolute Offensive unicorns (Makar, Quinn Hughes, Hutson, etc.)
@SuitableAlias Torts sending out Tippett-Frost-Michkov as his 4th forward set of the game is case-in-point that he just doesn't get it. He's aged out of the current NHL game - can't believe Briere continues to let him ride. https://t.co/5yqKmKlHFS
@STLBluesMuse I watched that full OT and the refs (/TO) doing review on the tablet. I think this is as close to 50/50 (grey) as it gets on a call. Parayko definitely knew a strong stick, puck first, could get it across the line. A less respected player/team doesn't get this call.
@avappleyard The F list is a visual light-bulb on how few Russian Fs do PK work in the NHL. Nichu may be only guy listed. MIN... w/Trenin & Khus... are two of the few. Like Team Canada - you only really need 9-10 elite Fs... and the lasts should have some PK/two-way game. Solid list tho.
@TSN_Sports LOL. I love hockey... and 2D is the "respect" answer... but everybody is fooling themselves to not be picking 4A. Come.on. That's a 'rest of your lifetime' party story to tell.
@BruceMcCurdy For context, Bouchard had in 2024 playoffs:
Round 1 - 9pts, +3, in 6gp vs LA
Round 2 - 11pts, +7 in 7gp vs VAN
Round 3 - 7pts, +4 in 6gp vs DAL
Round 4 - 5pts, +0 in 7gp vs FLA
...
Four Nations is playing quality of team(s) that would be... IDK... like a Round 7 of NHL playoffs.
@charlieo_conn Indeed not too shabby... though a lot of PHI opponents are declining or banged-up over those 12gp (if one inspects). Be interesting to see how he does against some-clicking healthy teams. I'm rooting for him as a similar size guy that used to play D.
@DavidSt_Louis True - but maybe there is Rantanen upside. People continue to write young prospects off way, way too soon. Some of these guys are going to Dylan Strome on the NHL-world. Be patient.
@racheldoerrie Hmmm... I don't know. Biz "grabbed the guy's arm". I don't love this story all-around. Too many people celebrating the 'better than the 6 bad guys' guy. This is a bit of violence-promoting here, Rachel with the 'good on Biz'. Words & phone-video could've been as effective.
@DaveyUpper Idiot post. Unspoken (but known) rule in hockey is that you can jump-in on any guy if team sends 'third man'. *Rempe cuts in on Parayko/Cuylle (foll. Cuylle check-from-behind), so Jake rears Rempe and Thomas grabs Cuylle. Mika is wisely not to join (by code). Rempe-problem.
