(1/3) CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: For our Spring 2023 edition, Perspectives seeks papers, commentaries, & notes from the field of urban education, due March 15th. This edition does not have a specific theme, but we are particularly looking for submissions relating to the topics below:
The Vice President cannot implement changes or policies independently because they are not the head of the executive branch; that role belongs to the President. The President is the one who sets the administration’s agenda, and the VP can only act within the scope of authority delegated to them. The VP can advocate for policies and work with Congress to support legislative efforts but cannot unilaterally enforce changes without the President’s direction and support. 2/9

- The use of multimodal approaches in critical pedagogy
- Problematizing family/parental/community “involvement” in schools & classroom
- The relationship between space and schooling in urban contexts
- Community-based education
- Alternative approaches to schooling
We need researchers who are interested in social justice, who know that participants are not bodies to be exploited, who understand the violent nature research has on minoritised groups. We need researchers who want humanise how we work.
