I hear a lot of outrage that voters have a whole month to return ballots, why can’t they just get it back? Some voters CAN easily get it back, we want them to, it’s better for my staff, scheduling, it’s so helpful. We strongly encourage it. BUT… 1/
Submitted a Veto Request to Governor Hobbs for HB2703/SB1011. These bills would make it so voters couldn’t drop off a mail ballot after 7pm on the Fri before an election. That means Sat, Mon and Tues we’d have to hope that voter was able to vote a site-issued ballot.
Bills that seek to reduce the return period for ballots by mail, such as SB1011 are dangerous to election workers. I don't have to imagine what it'll be like cause it happens every Election Day. We secure ballot boxes at exactly 7pm and close. Ppl show up after 7 and yell.
City of Dearborn — home to many Arab Americans in Detroit suburbs — went for Trump over Harris by 6 pts (42% to 36%, with 18% voting Green)
For context, 62% backed Clinton in 2016 and 70% voted for Biden in 2020
Pima County Voters: If you lost your ballot, never got one, or ruined it by spilled coffee on it, you can still request a ballot in person at an Early Voting, Emergency Voting or Election Day Vote Center. Important note: you’ll need to vote it on site. Don’t forget ID!
