1) I'm at a tech conference. I would just like to point out that every. single. presenter is using animated GIFs to demonstrate how to do various things on the computer. If you're not using them in #physed, you should be....
Brains feeling a little cloudy after reading articles all morning. Anybody else feel like this? Get up and move, get oxygen moving through the body to wake up your brain and re-focus.

@doane_katie@edutopia This a really powerful article. From my experiences teaching in the UK a lot of educators lost sight of this aspect of our profession and focused too much on test results. It's refreshing to be back at a school where the community values these non-cognitive skills. #SummerEd611
@jonohodgson1@kj_macleod I think respect is a large factor; from students and/or from administration. A few of the people I know that have moved on from education, or moved from one school to another, feel that they are under appreciated. #SummerED611
@LisaDowlin These are some great ideas to incorporate technology in various ways at various levels. I've found that my students often need a lot of time learning how to use new technological tools. Does anyone have methods on speeding up the learning curve? #summerED611
Really well spoken speech on the importance of HPE. What can our schools be doing to address this phenomenon? As educators how can we address health as a cross-curricular topic?

@DanielLaGamba@cultofpedagogy@joemhirsch@kj_macleod I like the "feedforward" approach more. Upon reflection I often realize I've given "feedback" that I don't believe will allow for much growth in my students. I look forward to trying to implement these components to my practice.

@kendallchad@greggerbs@kj_macleod Yea, it’s very intriguing. A lot of discussions have been focused on that point as BC rolls out the revised curriculum.
This article relates well with the revised curriculum in BC. Listened to @greggerbs speak this year describing the BC Curriculum moving from a focus on content acquisition to competency growth.

@kendallchad@juleemassee@MartinHowie@kj_macleod My school has had conversations about device free days. I'm all for it. I think the students would come to value time away from their devices.
Always looking for fun ways to engage students in the classroom. Does anyone have experience using these games or have similar resources?

As PE teachers we're always trying to promote a healthy lifestyle. It takes a full community to pass these behaviours onto our students. Here's a great article sharing idea's on how to incorporate the whole community.

@kendallchad@kj_macleod I like Neiterman and Zavas idea on dispersing the responsibility to all community members. Building this classroom culture is a difficult task. Here are some interesting ideas that others are using.

This video gives a good overview of how quantitative research is used in education. Examples are used throughout video. https://t.co/OSAEFYNnjM

@MartinHowie@kj_macleod My school did a Pro-D on Growth mindset this year and this article was a good refresher from that day and added some valuable points. Modelling a growth mindset is both important to advance this skill as a teacher and model the behaviour for students. #SummerED611
