Much is being made of pubs closing due to high energy costs, esp⚡️. I feel for pubs and restaurants as they have and are going through a really tough time. Selfishly, as a sector, they are the biggest customer of our Butchery @Macbeths....

@EdinvaleFarm@Macbeths Excellent thread. Similar thoughts going through my head. On repeat. As I'm a one man band, mothballing is a more straight forward option but it's galling to think about. Lost effort and losing the customer base is painful. Not sure whether it'll be my decision or made for me

James and I became friends in his final years. He was the most fantastic character, bubbling with cheek and mischief and cleverness.

Edit: There is no major farm product that emits GHGs that are as disproportionately high thanks to the single metric & efficiency (not total emissions) focused accounting methodology applied that ignores C seq & isolates humans from nature as damaging as organic, pasture-fed beef
In the 3rd yr undergrad course on policy making I teach at @ShefUniPolitics we discuss how the ‘rational’ model does not capture well how policy is actually made. The government’s new energy strategy will provide me with a helpful case study for years to come. A short thread. /1

A sheep euthanized this am due to throat and leg damage and shock.19 others at risk of abortion and death through stress. Horrible for all involved. Long term dog owner is mortified, apologetic and accountable. A farmer is one sheep down.
