@XanadanX@angelwakingup2@Baconator098@RockChartrand That's interesting. I assume you mean by taking the best bits and leaving out the worst from these systems. Then after a while of this process arent we back to something resembling centrism?
@XanadanX@angelwakingup2@Baconator098@RockChartrand To an extent because if you don't pay your taxes you go to jail. But the more extreme the economic model, the more authority is required to keep it going. Most western nations are central so require less authority. Capitalism actually helps the population serve themselves.
@XanadanX@angelwakingup2@Baconator098@RockChartrand They do have to be authoritarian because at nation state scales humans can't cooperate in the same way they do at sub 150 people communities. It takes authority to redistribute the resources
Wait a second, saving money is one thing but saving purchasing power involves risk. Saving money seems safer but is a guaranteed loss of purchasing power. Investing seems riskier but is the only way of preserving purchasing power. It's tough out there
@AlecStapp People really should be better at extrapolating this kind of establishment groupthink to today, and realising we are the idiots of right now - it will take someone absolutely insane to move the needle
