🎉 #TheBahamas now certified for eliminating mother-to-child transmission of #HIV. <2% transmission. 95%+ of pregnant women in care. Zero complacency. This is what happens when a nation refuses to leave mothers and babies behind. 🇧🇸❤️

@eizod Congratulations to you and MSH. I have no doubt that you will continue to impact positively to the health system in Nigeria in your new position just as you in your previous position.
Happy to reconnect with my brother @Chikwe_I at #CPHIA2022. We discussed collaboration on disease surveillance in #health Emergency Preparedness and response between @UNICEFAfrica & @WHO.
Happening now!! Panel discussion on oxygen system strengthening at ICPHA, Kigali 2022. Dr. Paul Kwetishe sharing the Nigeria experience on the panel. Kudos to great work with support from @UNICEF_Nigeria and other stakeholders. @Fmohnigeria
In 2021, Nigeria had the highest number of air pollution-related child pneumonia deaths in the world.
To reduce preventable child deaths and respond to oxygen needs, UNICEF is engaging partners to design and rollout innovative and clean energy solutions to power health systems.
@UNICEF_Nigeria@Fmohnigeria@UNICEFhealth@NphcdaNG We know the high impact interventions and we have the tools. For every child Vaccination, hand washing, prevent malnutrition and pollution and stronger primary healthcare for all to end preventable deaths from pneumonia.
One child under 5 years of age dies of pneumonia every 45 seconds around the world. Pneumonia is preventable if a child has access to quality primary healthcare.
On this #WorldPneumoniaDay, we call on governments to end this forgotten epidemic.
#ForEveryChild, good health!
