@WMulombo Congrats @WMulombo on your remarkable tenure in Nigeria. It was a pleasure working with you on the CCM. Wishing you all the best in your new role.

Thank you Mr President @officialABAT for the timely appointment of these world class health professionals @Muyi_Aina and ๐๐ซ. ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ก๐ข ๐๐ก๐ข๐ซ๐ข as CEOs of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency @NphcdaNG and National Health Insurance Authority @NhisNg respectively, as part of the Federal Ministry of Health & Social Welfare @Fmohnigeria team.
Nigeria will transform its health sector, save lives, and restore unity and faith in the country in line with Renewed Hope Agenda.
Producing health for all Nigerians requires the total support of everyone. Together we will fix our health sector and put the country on an unstoppable path to achieving quality universal health coverage.
Thank you @muhammadpate for hosting us. Your vision for Nigeriaโs health sector and your sector-wide approach to actualize this vision will not only improve the health of Nigerians but also unlock the health sector value-chain and leave a legacy of a resilient health system.
Effective political leadership and programmatic ownership of health interventions by Government and development partners requires strong governance systems. Our discussion with @MSHMarian and team of Management Science for Health @mshnigeria was on Health System Financing, Value Chain & Health Security and Health Workforce.
We are adopting sector-wide approaches (SWAPs) to optimize national and development partner resources to save lives, deliver affordable quality services and achieve more equitable health outcomes for all Nigerians.
@NoorAbdisalan@WHO@Harvard@HarvardChanSPH Congrats Prof and thanks for the great achievements at WHO supporting countries to get their malaria right relying on high quality data for decision making. I wish you well in your new role.
Thanks @UnaidsNigeria for the warm welcome and frank conversation on the pathway to a robust health & community system to end AIDS. Excited about the prospects ahead for a strong partnership to strengthen sun-national entities for the #NewBusinessModel for Nigeriaโs AIDS response
@UnaidsNigeria hosted a high profile advocacy meeting with @MSHHealthImpact Vice President, Prog. Dev. group, Dr. Aday Adesotoye. Discussed partnership areas in health systems strengthening for @NigeriaGov & successful implementation of the Global AIDS strategy 2021-2026 @eizod
@damendah NHA is a very useful tool for policy and strategy review. In Nigeria NHA helped to promote allocative efficiency by redirecting more investment to primary healthcare compared to tertiary and secondary healthcare. We have also used it to report on Global Fund cofinancing for NFM2
#Localmanufacturing#CapacityBuilding
African countries highlight the need for capacity building programs. By investing in training, knowledge sharing, and skills development, we can empower local manufacturers and strengthen their ability to meet the region's #healthcare demands
@SamAmadi@NgLabour Welfare state (and its main typologies) has also been linked to key health indices which by extension positively impacts productivity. No wonder the Scandinavian countries outperform others in key health indices e.g. life expectancy.
We commend financial contributions from PEPFAR, Global Fund, UN Agencies and Government of Nigeria to incrementally pay for the treatment of Nigerians living with HIV
We want Nigeria to build on the momentum and ensure sustainable financing through the HIV Trust Fund.

Per capita health spending from aid only increased marginally from 2019 to 2020. Increasing and sustaining domestic financing for health is the path toward sovereign health security. Check WHOโs Report on National Health Accounts๐๐ฝ

I spoke at the Annual TB Review Meeting where I appreciated the TB managers in 36 states & FCT for the remarkable results in case notification & treatment. We all agreed that #leadership is essential to improve or health indices. I also called for increased #domestic financing.
I joined family, friends and well wishers of @DrSaniAliyu yesterday to celebrate the investiture of OON on him by @MBuhari for his sterling contributions to national development. We unanimously echoed that it was an honour well deserved. I wish him Godโs grace for higher calling
