@thatginamiller My feeling is that the police felt that arresting Andrew at this point in time, when he was moving house would catch him at his modt vulnerable (administratively) with lots of incriminating documents in boxes that he would have wanted to destroy
Second fabulous visit to Uganda with members of the Kony defence team. Flattered and honoured to be granted audiences by President Museveni, the Attorney General and his Deputy, and the Chief Justice of Uganda, amongst others. Much fruitful discussion.
Yesterday Peter Haynes KC, the lead counsel of Joseph Kony, accompanied by Prof. Yvonne McDermott Rees, Legal Assistant and Ms Abigail Bridgman, Consultant paid a courtesy call on the Chief Justice Uganda, Justice Alfonse Chigamoy Owiny - Dollo.
The team briefed the Chief Justice on their presence in the country and their quest for justice.
The background to this visit is based the fact that on the 29th October 2024, the pre-trial Chamber of the ICC concluded that Mr Joseph Kony could not be found and decided to hold a confirmation of charges hearing in his absence.
The Chief Justice welcomed Mr Haynes and the team and shared his own encounter with Kony.
He wished them well in their interactions with stakeholders.
@NoelGallagher My brother in law claims he saw Noel running along the Paseo Maritim in Palma de Mallorca on Saturday morning. Can anyone confirm or deny? He’s a bit of a fantasist!😂
@acnewsitics Question: could the judge pass a suspended sentence and make it a condition that Trump refrain from criticizing the criminal justice system?
“I want to aknowledge the amazing courtesy and unfailing professionalism and very real attempt to tackle a myriad of difficult issues in a way that we can all be very proud of. He is going to be an immense loss to the International Criminal Court.” @KarimKhanQC of @PeterHaynesQC
If every England and USA player took to the field on Friday wearing a @OneLove armband, what could match officials do? Give them all yellow cards and then red ones if they refused to take them off? Then abandon the match? @FIFAWorldCup
Against my wishes my family got a lockdown dog on the premise they would do all the walking. The dog's a prick and I'm now walking it three times a day and life now is just waiting for the stupid fucking thing to die. I've never known misery like it.
@LizMcG_emplaw Even if you were correct (which you are not) what is so wrong with words being more commonly associated with one sex rather than another? I don’t believe I’ve ever heard a woman called a wanker, a tosser or a twat. Does it bother me that these terms are reserved for my sex? Nah
@JMPSimor I am still struggling to understand why, as a back bench MP, he was invited to deliver the fourth eulogy to HMQ in the House, ahead of several party leaders and senior members and why his grinning face has been in every front row since
