Congratulations to Tufts Medicine's James Udelson, MD recipient of the 2026 Paul Dudley White Award from the @American_Heart Association. His leadership in heart failure, cardiac imaging and cardiomyopathy continues to improve care for patients nationwide: https://t.co/FdW9wVVs87
@JAMarbach@NavinKapur4 Totally agree. This was a worthy hypothesis and the study was high quality. As a result, we now have strong evidence about what doesn’t work.
Criticism of STEMI-DTU is revisionist. Biologically grounded strategy supported by years of preclinical work. We cannot claim to value innovation, then ridicule a rigorously tested hypothesis because the trial was neutral. Hypocrisy deserves to be called out. @NavinKapur4
Our hearts go out to all those who knew and loved Dr. Natesa Pandian, who sadly passed away on Nov. 23.
He was a significant figure in the echo field and the recent lead author on our 2023 #ASEGuideline, "Recommendations for the Use of Echocardiography in the Evaluation of RHD."
Congratulations to all #GRS Assisted Circulation presenters and thank you to our mentors - all made this a GRS to remember! Thank you to my cochair Andi Escher - so proud of this incredible program! Here’s to new colleagues, incredible science and GRS 2027!
PCPs have been gradually eliminated from the team taking care of their patients who needed hospitalization, whereas two decades ago they would be the admitting attending and the “captain of the ship”. I don’t think this has improved delivery of care.
The father of IABP, Greek cardiologist Spyridon Moulopoulos passed away at age 98 today. His work at the Cleveland Clinic in the early 60s saved millions of patients in the ensuing decades. He also established the first heart failure clinic in his native Greece in the 80s.
I wrote a little something for @CardioNerds#USCR Journal about being a trainee with a stutter. Thanks for inspiring us to pause and reflect, @CardioNerds + @gradydoctor.

Happy to share our brief report, a post hoc analysis of ATHENA-HF:

In spironolactone-naive pts w/ ADHF, spironolactone 100 mg/d reduced K wasting & need for K supplementation. But pts w/ presumed high aldosterone activity still did not decongest better.
You walk in the room of your patient on VA-ECMO & see the following pump display.
How do you interpret those values?
It's ⏰ for our next @CardioNerds thread in the VA-ECMO series of Devices in a Dash! Follow along with the video here: https://t.co/BzLS1Knuiv

Congratulations to the outstanding team from the Molecular Cardiology Research Institute (MCRI) at Tufts Medical Center. They are demonstrating national leadership in cardiovascular science innovation and discovery at an American Heart Association conference this week. #BCVS23
