@andeelikesxc@Robintschek_CIA Yes, laws did indeed restrict French-language education in several New England states. And that’s not even mentioning the KKK, which targeted French Canadians as well!
@thom38541@Robintschek_CIA In Québec, we called it the Great Hemorrhage. Between 1840 and 1930, nearly one million French-speaking Québécois left to settle in New England, including the parents of the legendary Jack Kerouac!
@PamelaIngold You’re wrong. It’s not that Parisians hate the Québécois accent; it’s that they kiss up to all Anglos. They’re very colonized in their mindset, especially when it comes to Los Gringos.
@mtlgazette Anglo-Québécois are such cowards. They’re afraid of being afraid. They vote Liberal federally, provincially, and municipally. Thick-headed. In denial, they find comfort in shady dealings and corruption draped in a Canadian flag.
@MartianHoplite You know, if you’re accumulating so much suffering, you should talk to your psychiatrist about it. And only your psychiatrist. That way, you can spare us your whining. You are welcome.
@ohlistic You know, if you’re accumulating so much suffering, you should talk to your psychiatrist about it. And only your psychiatrist. That way, you can spare us your whining. You are welcome.
@RealMBrooks@EmmaJoNYC Obviously, Québec hasn’t been the loudest. We keep buying it. The amount of money we’ve poured into Alberta’s infrastructure is enormous, especially considering that we’re not seeing a dime of the profits.
@RealMBrooks@EmmaJoNYC First, Quebec receives less per capita than the other provinces. Second, we provide significantly more funding to Alberta’s oil companies.
@obviousllyyours Ton ignorance fait que tu oublies que tu es un sujet du roi du Canada. Évidemment que tu votes libéral au fédéral, au provincial et au municipal. Tu n’es pas spécialement le pogo le plus dégelé.
@Phil_Arso@AIM4GC According to Statistics Canada, there are 320,000 native English speakers ON the Island of Montréal, out of a total population of 2 million on the island. Meaning 16%.
Un peu de rigueur.
