Saturday morning with a great and very informative #WPC2023 , @MathsWest !
I love using CPA but I got a lot of new things I will definitely try 😊
Thank you @LourdesMaths !
This group of children were delighted to tell us about the Chess competition that they competed in last Sunday in Bothwell, both boys receiving a medal. @HamiltonChessClub
@StudyMaths Don’t get me wrong it is perfect as it is !Pupils were totally engaged expanding brackets using tiles in their iPads during my last lesson 😀
@MsReh35 I am reading it now, half way through and I am finding very helpful. Gives a perspective of some aspects of our job that we ignore or forget under the daily routine pressure.
@CayzerMaths @mathsjem I was using this method when I was teaching at Greece . It is the basic method used by teachers and textbooks.
I am not aware of a name though.
@StudyMaths Our action is adding. Subtraction is addition with the additive inverse. There for 7-3+4 [7+(-3)+4]is an arithmetic expression with addition only containing three integers and we can change the order if that helps our calculations.
@draustinmaths I used this week with my S2 class the one with filling the blanks “Finding angles’ . It was so helpful to track various misconceptions 😊Thanks once again!!
@MissWadden That is absolutely amazing ! I think people should share these experiences .Teachers will know what you are talking about and the others might understand why we are so passionate with our job 😊
