Sharing this because I feel sick about all the conspiracy theories going around. We have to remember it’s not worth arguing. If you have the energy, follow some of these guidelines to help. Get ahead of conspiracies by sharing and supporting true history.
@devinzander When it comes to making a nice architectural feature, I don’t think we have to prioritize packing every inch of the city. Salt Lake is not really at a loss for space, it’s at a loss for equitable pricing. Ask this question about suburban sprawl, not an interesting design.
Most of us grew up in houses this size. It amazes me that young couples all feel they need a house ten times this size to start out in. No wonder there is a housing crisis in this country. Drive by any new developments and you never see economical houses this size being built.
This is very enlightening. So many frustrated middle schoolers possibly feeling this way but with no vocabulary or emotional intelligence to express it
@bellabubsabsua Exactly. Asking basic questions like “did you have source for that?” would get them all up in arms. It’s these exact some brains on Twitter.
@slcjuanb I’m surprised by the disdain a public act of prayer shows to our health and environment when these prayerful leaders block every attempt at a solution.
@freekyfro17 @NateForUtah If it weren’t for Cox consistently ignoring suggestions to intervene on our state’s climate crisis I might not be so unsettled, but this culture of prayer over reason is directly inhibiting our state government. A day of thanksgiving to appease the god of the sky is bizarre.
@S9P21@GovCox He says that the rain came as a direct result of everybody in the state praying for rain rather than acknowledge the natural cycles that led to it. It is misleading and zealous and buries secular concern to tout religious mysticism over reason.
@brundaged@GovCox Believe it or not, we actually have a legal system that debates interpretations of the constitution and this is one point that is not entirely settled.
@brundaged@GovCox I feel like this violates the spirit of the law which is to prevent the government from compelling citizens to join a state religion or entangling itself with religious interests.
@NateForUtah As a teacher I could be written up or dismissed for sending a letter to parents inviting them to a “prayer” day. Seems like more than bad taste to me.
