@brainchild138 @Cho_cathal_ic @RoborosewaterM You have effect A, that cares about event X (draw, damage, whatever). X happens, and A applies its effect. Now we have "X modified by A," which A doesn't modify again because all A cares about is X and nothing more.

Not sure that perfectly captures the rule, but might make sense

If you have two permanents with "if you would do damage, double it," and you shock something, it does 8 damage (not 4 or an infinite amount).

@espinsegall @JC_Hathaway The biggest problem with talking about originalism is that everyone uses the term differently. I didn't mean to suggest anyone does originalism like we do, and I hope you don't mistake either it or myself as defending originalism as it's practiced in the US.

@AuntIzzy @legalwritingpro None. She was pro se, and probably needs the kind of professional help prisons and jails are bad at providing. That and federal judges are so hesitant to find people in contempt. I doubt the judge did more than chuckle and perhaps, like me, bring it up at often as possible after.
