The value and importance of semantic layers in reporting tools cannot be overstated. I cut my teeth on BObj universes and OBIEE repositories, and naïvely assumed that that was just how analytics were generally done.
My parents, as thousands of Cubans did, came alone on flights to the US, sent by their panicked parents (my grandparents) after the revolution.
The shit has well and truly hit the fan when parents give up their children to strangers in order to save them.
A small victory, but given the government has never ceded an inch ever, an important one.
(As a side note, the fastest way to declare you know nothing about the Cuban reality is to cite the embargo as the reason why conditions in Cuba are so terrible.)
