Markets going down is good for everyone except baby boomers who are already extremely fatted and wealthy. You aren't retiring today. You want buying opportunities. Some of you need to relax and go to the gym
#ETH is still repeating last cycle through the lens of monetary policy.
In 2019, during QT, a wedge formed that ETH mostly stayed in. It then had a fakeout above it before falling below it.
After #ETH fell below its wedge in 2019, the Fed ended QT shortly after.
When the Fed ended QT in 2019, ETH/BTC bottomed. ETH/USD then got a rally but then went deeper into the regression band a few months later.
This cycle is playing out in a similar manner, the only thing that really changed is how much longer QT is lasting.
Right now, #ETH is breaking down into its regression band, from the wedge it formed during QT.
Decent odds the Fed ends QT within the next few months.
The Fed does not care about ETH and is obviously not basing monetary policy around what crypto is doing, but I think that crypto can be useful into understanding the general health of the consumer, and thus the reaction function of the Federal Reserve.
1. Trump is more popular with young people than old people. Most young people don’t own stocks or homes (aka they are asset-light).
2. Trump is also more popular amongst working and middle class folks. Most of these folks are also asset-light.
It stands to reason that a fall in asset prices (stocks down or home prices down) have very little impact on his core constituents. To that end, I won’t be surprised if Trump has little reaction, then, to an equity or home price market correction.
Separately, the upside of shrinking these asset prices is that it gives the folks mentioned above a legitimate chance to buy into those markets at lower levels, making equity ownership and/or home ownership more possible.
Tangentially, if Trump figures out how to get rents lower, he will unite young people and asset-light working people into a reliable voting block for the foreseeable future. He will have given them the trifecta: cheaper stocks, cheaper homes, lower rent.
Said differently, don’t presume that the stock market going up is a useful barometer anymore. In fact, it going down may be a better signal for his popularity.
Time will tell.
Donald Trump, the first crypto President, just helped pull off the biggest crypto rug pull of all time. A Congressional investigation is now warranted to find out the following regarding this pump and dump scheme.
Who authored the two Sunday afternoon posts on the President's Truth Social account?
Who knew about the first post in advance, and when were they first informed of the wording of the post and the timing of its release?
How much money those with advance notice spent buying XRP, ADA, SOL, BTC, and ETH, and if they sold, the exact timing of those sales, and the proceeds received?
We also need all emails or text messages that involve any members of the President's staff, his or their family or friends, his campaign donors, or Truth Social employees, that relate to either of the two Sunday Truth Social posts.
Crime is now legal in the United States. I was a crypto investor but l've lost faith. The amount of manipulation is disgusting. Who knows what's next with stock manipulation and insider trading
