You left out a critical word "and". Created from dust AND You came and You lived among us. That's what the song actually says. The lyrical juxtaposition in the song is an interplay bween us & Jesus. The next part says: You stepped into time and you laid down your life to save us. This is shown throughout the rest of the song.
Strange indeed. It is also curious that they exclude the fact that Maxie, John Ed and Bill Hinson fought like everything for the UMC to keep those commitments and for everyone to stay UMC. Many of us saw it as wasted effort bc the denom would never redeem itself. They werent seeking to change its stance. Only for the denom to live up to what it said it believed. The denom told everyone who was considering leaving that they hadn't changed anything (true in theory not practice). Then one year later they changed everything bc they had the votes.
Bob Woodward wrote “Wired”, a story of the life and death of John Belushi. Bill Murray read the first chapter, put it down and said, oh my God, they framed Nixon.
Silent Coup is a page turner.
@DJJenkins "Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me."

And if you think its an exaggeration, then you're not paying attention
Christian pastors are going to have to think deeper than “welcome the stranger” and “love the immigrant among you” for their thoughts on immigration policy in the coming years with huge swaths of Islamic socialists actively seeking to gain political power and fundamentally reshape significant parts of America.
