We are saddened to share that earlier today, a #CivilAirPatrol Cessna 182 crashed in Larimer County, Colo., while participating in a search and rescue training exercise. There was one survivor and two fatalities.

Still don’t get why the 1812 Overture is played so much for the 4th of July. The piece was written about the Russian victory over Napoleon. It has nothing to do with American independence.

The part most played during fireworks literally quotes the tune of “God Save the Tsar.”

Since "Chinese Spy Balloon" is trending: In 1945, the crew of USS New York spotted a sphere that they thought might be a Japanese balloon weapon. The captain ordered it shot down but none of the guns could score a hit. Finally, a navigator realized they were attacking Venus.
