“We understand their pain, and they understand our pain.”
Hear from Palestinian-American Sam Kuttab and Jewish American Sukey Blanc, two attendees of Monday’s 10/7 gathering in Philadelphia.
Along with hundreds of other Philly residents, they gathered in solidarity & grief to mourn the dead, fight for the living, and say loudly & clearly: Not Another Bomb.

@BenLorber8@shane_burley1 I wish that groups I support, like SJP would say that Palestinians and Jews will live with equality and justice after “the Zionism entity” is destroyed. Wouldn’t this be a more direct way of defusing accusations of anti-Semitism? Any thoughts? Thnx!
@shane_burley1 @joshualeifer Good for Shane! I hope JVP supports Leifer also. I am working hard to end Israeli apartheid and genocide while also coming to terms with the negative impacts of rigid, uninformed anti-Zionism on my own history of activism, going back to the 1970s.
“I prosecuted sex predators. Trump is one.”
This Kamala ad from 2019 when she was running for the Democratic presidential nomination still feels very relevant and powerful. She should dust it off and re-air it right now.
@justmaybechris @mindyisser @AlissaShira @abgutman . Hope you will help get Philly out for this vigil - mourning lives lost from Israeli atrocities in Rafah, while building solidarity for peace and equality.
This morning NYPD also abused and arrested a man who was conversing with a group of keffiyah-wearing women outside the 116th and Amsterdam gate with the lie that he was “harassing them.” They have it in video.
One person detained by NYPD outside Columbia University while walking their dog in the street for refusing to show papers proving they live in the neighborhood. Not affiliated with the protest occurring outside.

Despite the rain, student workers and supporting faculty were out in force at the SENS-UAW (Local 7902) picket on Fifth Avenue today. Student workers deserve to earn a living wage!

If you wish to support these students, you can send a letter to the Philadelphia Board of Education (they seem to read them). I will attach my own below.

@iyad_elbaghdadi I accidentally hit the translate button, and I noticed that the automatic translator used the term "Zionist crimes" and Iyad el-Baghdadi used the term "Israel's crimes"? Do differences in these terms lead to any differences in how people hear the arguments?
