99% of the wine consumed in England is imported.
Yet there are now over 1,000 vineyards producing award-winning wine on home soil, with sales growing year on year.
If just 5% of the market shifted to local producers, that's around £750 million a year staying here.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot,
"Let us say to our British friends"
"If they stand ready to return to the EU Single Market with all associated privileges and duties"
"They will be be met with open arms"
Sounds like a plan. Who's in?
This beautiful farmland in Bedfordshire is at risk of being covered with 1,900 acres of solar panels - larger than 1,000 football pitches. This shouldn’t be allowed. Put solar panels on car parks, roofs or brownfield sites instead.
Solar panels on all suitable new homes is a win-win-win: cutting bills, cutting emissions, and making UK more energy secure. We've got a vanishingly small window of chance to prevent climate breakdown & we need to take every chance we can get to bring down emissions

The row over inheritance tax on farms misses the wider point.
Inheritance tax is a grotesque and immoral form of double taxation.
The estates of people who die are what’s left after they’ve already paid a lifetime of tax. Then the State grabs another 40%.
It’s just wrong.
Govt allocates £400m for tree planting yet splurges £2.7bn on Sizewell C white 🐘 to continue its programme of ripping up trees, destroying miles of hedging, concreting acres of land, defiling the coast, in one of the UK's biodiversity hotspots & AONB. Madness!

Costa Rica, once home to rampant logging, has now almost doubled the size of its rainforest. They turned it all around within a generation. It can be done.
Protect people and the planet.

Inheritance tax has got to be the most retarded of all taxes. You have to pay the government money for the privilege of inheriting something that's already yours, and has already been taxed before it even got to you. Why?
🚨THE GREAT FARMING LAND-GRAB🚜
1. Hike inheritance tax in Budget on farms over £1million. Bankrupt 1000s of asset-rich/cash-poor farms
2. Send in civil servants to hoover up bankrupt farmland for £peanuts in fire sales
3. Build sprawling council estates nobody wants for Angela Rayner. Fill them with asylum seekers/ship out social problems from cities
4. Build wind & solar farms nobody wants for Ed Miliband's crackpot "Great British Energy" scheme
5. Annihilate food security, depend on cheap imports, destroy British farming/landscape forever
Clarkson is right. Farmers have been "shafted". But is it being done deliberately?
Currently arguing with @OctopusEnergy over my Credit Balance
I am £673 in Credit. Confirmed by Meter Readings.
I've asked them to refund £550. They say I can only have £116 & should leave £500 as a buffer
It's my money! Give it back!
Save the largest known rare #bat colony! The #Norwich Western Link Road would be disastrous for Norfolk’s wildlife. Nature’s recovery must be a priority, not further destruction.

It’ll only take minutes.
If you care about nature please take a moment to do this.
Consultation closes end of Sunday

The beautiful Wensum Valley would be shattered by this road. The Western Link would slice through a patchwork of interconnected habitats, fragmenting them and degrading their capacity to support a rich variety of wildlife.

🚨 URGENT: Help Us Stop the Norwich Western Link Road! 🚨
This unwanted proposed road project threatens our precious green spaces and local wildlife, including the UK's largest-known rare bat colony in the Wensum Valley.
🌳🐦 This £274m project will devastate ancient woodlands, disrupt vital ecosystems, and lead to the long-term decline of endangered species like the barbastelle bat. We cannot let this happen!
💔 The proposed road will:
Destroy the heart of the barbastelle bat ‘super-colony,’ including crucial maternity roost woodlands.
Sever important routes between the bats’ homes and feeding sites, increasing the risk of vehicle collisions.
Harm other species and habitats, including rare birds, beetles, ancient woodlands, and wetlands.
Join us in standing up for our environment. Your voice matters! Together, we can make a difference. ✊
✍️ Lodge a Planning Objection: Add your voice at https://t.co/GiLJaXKAP1 and submit your objections to the public consultation before the deadline.
Let's save our green corridors for future generations.
