La comunidad de jugadores inició este domingo 23 de agosto un boicot mundial contra PlayStation para protestar por los planes de Sony de reducir y eventualmente abandonar la producción de videojuegos en formato físico.

La protesta, impulsada por la organización Does It Play?, comenzó como un llamado de una semana, pero ahora busca extenderse hasta que la compañía dé marcha atrás con sus planes. La iniciativa utiliza el hashtag #PSBlackout y pide a los usuarios mantenerse alejados de los servicios de PlayStation.

Entre las acciones propuestas se encuentran no comprar juegos digitales en la PS Store, cancelar las suscripciones de PlayStation Plus, cerrar sesión en PlayStation Network y no participar en partidas online.
