Here’s a useful tip to help students improve their writing. ✍️ 🤩
Ask them to read their work aloud. While it may not feel as natural—or modest—as reading silently, it can help them catch often-overlooked errors, a 2022 study found.

What a wonderful resource to share with Ss and parents. @SChewPsych is giving all Ts and Ss a gift with these study strategy videos. The more Ss know about how to study the more #agency they can take over their #learning. #edchat#cogsci
@alicekeeler could not agree more. Grades should reflect Ss academic achievement and should never be punitive. @tguskey wrote in an excellent article recently where he said grades, when used correctly, can actually be another tool Ts can use to communicate feedback to Ss.
While some vilify grades, @tguskey makes excellent points and 4 conditions for using grades as feedback to learners. Of course, grades alone are not enough, but they can be part of a robust feedback system for Ss to use to promote #metacognition and academic growth. #assessment
Can grades be an effective form of feedback? Yes!
But only when used in the right way, at the right time, and for the right reasons!
