July 11
Today marks exactly 1 year since my hip replacement surgery. A pivotal moment for me after living my entire life with debilitating Leg pain (Avascular Necrosis) from a wrongly administered injection when I was a 9 months old.
This experience completely changed my life and taught me to never take the little things for granted.
The recovery months sent me into deep depression as I had to learn how to walk again as a child, and rely on other people to do even the simplest tasks. It truly felt like the world had moved on and I was just static. But God’s promise and the hard lessons he was teaching me in that season was that I be STILL and let the world move on, because someday I would move again and the world will STANDSTILL for me.
The world has indeed stood still for me especially in the last couple of months, as I started playing chess again, Broke a world record, Started playing the piano again,Travelled the world, Spoke on Global stages and Helped more children find their place in the world again. Maybe danced a little more as well😊.
I finally found the courage to chase all the things that set my soul on fire.
The surgeons say the titanium implants have a lifespan of 15-20 years if you’re lucky, so I guess this is year one of being a cyborg. I’m still recovering and not sure what the future holds, but one thing I know that’s certain is God will hold my hands through all of it.
This frail body and these broken bones will house the greatest spirit humanity will ever know.
I’m living❤️
For everyone going through their own version of being static or nursing a pain no one else understands, I hope you don’t give up on yourself. Those battle scars will tell a beautiful story that healing is possible.
Someday you will move again and the world will STANDSTILL.
A Christian sister cannot be a baddie, Jesus baddie, or Christian baddie.
We can ascribe all the positive definitions we desire to the word, but essentially; it refers to a modern female whose overall identity and self-esteem center on her looks, sexual attractiveness, and her ability to cause sensual excitement in the opposite gender.
So, this archetypical lady would elevate her physical exterior above everything else and would expect all sorts of rewards, both social and material, to come to her based on her outlook.
This is why the current winner of the popular reality show, BBN, has built her entire identity around the baddie term. She embodies the whole essence of the term to near perfection and a nation agrees with her.
But what characterizes the lifestyle of the young lady?
Nudity, crude indecency, and licentiousness.
Months ago, there was a frenzy about her in public discourse on Twitter here simply because she bared her body on continental TV on the show leaving only her undergarments on.
That is what being a baddie essentially means.
That a lady exists who exalts her sexual attractiveness, physical outlook, and self-gratification above all rules and restrictions, both moral and scriptural.
That is what a baddie means, brethren. That is it. At the core of the term is an idolatry of the self—a woman who has decided to make her look a god.
This is why a baddie would do all sorts of things to maintain such an outlook of sexual attractiveness. She would wear indecent clothes. She would do lustful things just so that she could keep projecting that image of a super-sexually attractive lady.
This sort of behavior and lifestyle is condemned in Scripture. It is part of the works of the flesh that leads to hell, according to Paul:
2 Tim. 3:1-3
"But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.
2 People will be LOVERS OF THEMSELVES, lovers of money, boastful, PROUD, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, UNHOLY,
3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, WITHOUT SELF-CONTROL."
Gala. 5:19
"The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery...I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God."
A Christian lady cannot be a baddie. Being a baddie is rooted in the exaltation of the physical appearance, at the least.
That is not the mark of a Christian woman:
1 Pet. 3:3-4
"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes."
"Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight."
At the extreme, a baddie is sexually liberal. She is regarded as "hot" and "bad". That is why the term is most commonly used to describe popular female celebrities with exaggerated sexual outlooks, socialites who have spent millions to get artificially curvy bodies and social media figures who post suggestive images of themselves.
That is a baddie. Now, can a Christian be that? Of course not. We are a holy nation. Righteous. We are called out to be separated from the world.
A Christian tag cannot be attached to that such, it can only replace it.
Therefore, we appeal by God's mercy, let us desist from labeling Christians with such terms. And in case some think the definitions of a baddie aren't bad, please consider that no standard dictionary has the word baddie as being a confident independent woman.
None. The term is slang, urban slang, and the "definitions" on Urban Dictionary online are random entries anyone can input.
But in real life? A baddie is a bad girl. Bad in the sense that she is consciously sexually appealing and liberal.
Let us be different, and proud so in the Lord. May the Lord keep guiding us. Amen.
