"The truth will set you free, but first it will make you miserable."
~J. Garfield
Everything you've ever wanted is on the other side of fear.

I'm voting for change, even though we may "endure a long and uncertain process", because doing nothing is worse.
He talks a good game and promises the world while warning how disastrous things will get. Most people will vote to stay with Canada, and once the referendum fails he’ll invent another excuse, just as he has before, to shut everything down. It’s telling that the only time he actually acts is when someone starts pushing for real change and he feels threatened.
@sarobertson_ They are not operatives, they are consultants. US respects Alberta and would welcome trade agreements / partnerships. Hopefully Alberta gets its independence.
Why is Carney sending struggling Canadian taxpayers’ money to Brazil if its GDP is higher than Canada’s? Ukraine is bad enough. This is sheer nonsense.
@ACTBrigitte If what you’re describing is accurate, nuclear weapons had better be locked down. Certain Islamic teachings tell believers to kill infidels, and some hold that doing so opens the gates of paradise, with virgins waiting, so death is paradise to the killers. May God be with you.
I love the subtlety of the English language. In Quebec you’re a “sovereignist”, in Alberta you’re a “ditchbilly, cousin marrying, MAGA Nazi, seditious, separatist traitor.
If people actually get out and vote, they can make a real difference. The problem is that many assume their vote no longer matters, so municipal elections end up being decided by the relatively few who do show up. Turns out your vote matters after all...can't blame anyone but yourselves. Voting matters!
Quebec wants to leave.
Alberta wants to leave.
Mass exodus of Canadians looking for better lives.
46% of businesses looking to relocate to the US.
Record personal insolvencies.
Record small business bankruptcies.
Record food bank usage.
Record homelessness.
Yet the media will tell you Canadians whole-heartedly and unconditionally LOVE Mark Carney.
Something stinks.
Unfortunately they will just find another place to dump it and will be wary of who is watching. Police should be called immediately and fined. The fines need to be increased to get the message across to newcomers.
Winnipeg:
Small Litter: (cigarette butts, wrappers, gum): Minimum fine of $100 (often with an early-payment discount).
Illegal Dumping: (bags of household garbage or refuse): Minimum fine of $600 for individuals.
Large-Scale Dumping: (furniture, appliances, or large truckloads of material dumped from a vehicle): Minimum fine of $2,000 for individuals with no early-payment option.
IF WE ACCEPT THE STATUS QUO IN ALBERTA, WE MUST ALSO ACCEPT ITS CONSEQUENCES, SO YOU ARE SAYING ...
● If I vote to remain in Canada, I am voting to accept the same political system—while expecting different results...
“Repeating the same actions over and over while expecting different results is often described as insanity.”
● Am I prepared to accept groceries, housing, rent, fuel and utilities that many Albertans can no longer comfortably afford?
● Am I prepared to accept families working harder, paying more and still struggling to make ends meet?
● Am I prepared to accept overcrowded hospitals, shortages of family doctors and unacceptable healthcare delays?
● Am I prepared to accept rising crime, homelessness, addiction and expanding tent cities without demanding effective solutions?
● Am I prepared to accept increasing taxation, growing national debt and federal spending priorities that appear disconnected from the struggles Canadians face at home?
● Am I prepared to accept a political system in which Alberta’s voice can be overwhelmed by decisions made in Ottawa?
● Am I prepared to accept restrictions on lawful protest, concerns about censorship and governments that too often avoid meaningful accountability?
● Am I prepared to accept political division and constant blame while Canada’s governments point at Donald Trump instead of taking responsibility for problems within their own jurisdiction?
● Immigration, asylum policy, MAID, public safety and individual rights are serious issues. They require facts, careful discussion and honest answers—not hatred, exaggeration or political slogans.
● This is not about attacking immigrants, minority communities or individual Canadians. It is about holding governments accountable for affordability, healthcare, public safety, responsible spending and democratic representation.
“IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT HERE, YOU CAN MOVE.”
● We hear those words repeatedly—but we are not moving.
● Alberta is our home. Our families live here, our businesses were built here and our roots are planted here.
● Questioning the political system is not betrayal. Peacefully seeking democratic change is a fundamental right.
● We should not have to leave our home simply because we believe Alberta can build a stronger, more affordable and more accountable future.
OPTION 1 MUST COME WITH REAL ANSWERS
If remaining in Canada is supposed to provide Albertans with a stronger future, its supporters should explain:
● What will make everyday life more affordable?
● How will families stop falling further behind?
● How will healthcare improve?
● How will public safety be restored?
● How will government spending become more responsible?
● How will Alberta obtain a stronger and more meaningful voice?
● Most importantly: what will actually change under the same system?
WHAT OPTION 2 MEANS TO US
● Option 2 represents Alberta having its own voice—not Ottawa speaking for Alberta.
● It represents Albertans making decisions about Alberta’s resources, economy, finances and future.
● It represents the opportunity to pursue greater accountability, stronger economic control and a more affordable life.
● It is about the future we leave our children, our grandchildren and every generation that follows.
● This decision deserves serious research, honest debate and a clear understanding of both the opportunities and the risks.
BLAMING TRUMP IS NOT A PLAN.
DEFENDING THE STATUS QUO IS NOT A SOLUTION.
ALBERTANS DESERVE REAL ANSWERS—AND THE FREEDOM TO MAKE AN INFORMED CHOICE ABOUT THEIR FUTURE.

No. Jagmeet Singh, the former leader of Canada’s New Democratic Party (NDP), has not been arrested.
Claims that he was arrested are false. Recent social-media posts and ads (around late September 2026) circulating AI-generated images or videos of him being arrested, sometimes tied to a fake “investment platform” story, have been identified as fabricated.
Credible reporting has not documented any criminal arrest or charges against him.
Race:
usually refers to broad categories based on perceived physical traits: skin color, hair texture, facial features
Ethnicity:
refers to shared cultural identity: language, religion, customs, historical experience, and a sense of common descent or nationality.
Mixed race and they chose white pronouns perhaps?😉
Around 1 a.m. in Ontario, Canada, 18-year-old Aeron McQuillin, 17-year-old Bailey Campbell, and 15-year-old Billy Tarbett, who had gone out for a late-night snack, came across a woman stranded on the side of the road after her car had broken down, and she told them she could not afford a tow truck.
Instead of continuing on their way, the three teenagers decided to help, and with the woman steering they began pushing the car by hand, moving it nearly 7 kilometers down the road toward her home over a trip that took more than 2 hours.
Another driver eventually stopped and followed behind them with headlights and hazard lights on for safety, and even as hills, exhaustion, and a dead battery made the work harder, the boys kept going until just after 4 a.m., when they finally pushed the car into the woman’s driveway.
@robbfergusson It’s a vote to have a vote. Let people say their piece and let the numbers decide instead of just trying to silence the whole thing. Liberals just don’t understand that the more they try to demonizes anything that doesn’t fit their narrative, the more they empower it
