@CharCubed Yep. if I don’t feel like arguing I sometimes laugh conspiratorially and say “I know, but (I have an immunocomp’d friend / my doctor suggested it / just until this wave passes / etc). Either way, sounds like you’re taking other good steps, so it would just be one more later.
@CharCubed Indiana Jones or Poirot? (Fist fights on top of train, leaping between cars and over/under oncoming hazards? Or drinks and quips in the bar car, followed by bodies in the sleeper car with the pull-down bunk?)
@DrJenGunter How can I find a colonoscopy practitioner's adenoma detection rate? KP GI phone appointment person didn't know. (Thanks for the newsletter guidance!)
And they went through the garden library, past the bug books and the flower books and the bird books and they pulled out one of the @sesamestreet books which turned out to be “Caring With Bert And Ernie: A Book About Empathy.”
Today one of my kindergartners was sad at recess, and her ND friend brought her to the garden, showed me what she was feeling by pointing at 😢 on her emoji thermos, and then took her around and showed her different plants to help her feel better. I offered to read to them 1/2
IMPACT SUCCESS! Watch from #DARTMIssion’s DRACO Camera, as the vending machine-sized spacecraft successfully collides with asteroid Dimorphos, which is the size of a football stadium and poses no threat to Earth.
1. It is amazing that we can watch live as NASA deflects an asteroid #DARTMission
2. If I was a drinking game person, I'd drink every time they reassure the public that this is only a threat and there is no risk of this asteroid hitting earth, before or after deflection.
Got my bivalent booster and flu shot AND a free bag of goldfish snack crackers AND a sticker.
Happy to do this as often and for as long as needed to keep myself and those around me healthy.
(Still masking too, just like I wear sunscreen AND a hat.)
Yesterday a 1st grader asked me if a human leg would decompose in our school garden compost pile.
I said that anything that was alive will decompose eventually but our pile is not big / hot enough to safely compost dead animals or meat, and also it would smell real bad. 🦵🪱🌱
Just had a moment where I contemplated all the things I need to deal with and was NOT struck by a jolt of anxiety. Just a sense of capability and mild enthusiasm.
Is this what life is like for normal people?
(We don't let that age group help themselves from the plants anymore, because some of them are young and take things out of their mouths and put them back in the vegetable bed, or neglect to wash hands before and after picking their noses.) And, Covid.
The most rebellious of the young students are now being rebellious by running into the garden, grabbing big leaves of raw kale and collards, and eating them. It warms my heart like you wouldn't believe.
