A gap in #plastic #pollution research is the voices of indigenous communities & how plastic is impacting culture through damaged scarred sites, suffering totem species and loss of natural resources for ecosystems like #mangroves. Many species we study have #cultural significance!

@Yiing @SCannicci To include that there is a research gap in regards to how pollution is impacting local communities in particular indigenous communities as it could be impacting scared sites totem animals etc. The impact of plastic in mangroves goes beyond ecological.
