Coaches: Want a secret to success?
LOVE YOUR ATHLETES.
Show them everyday - a smile, high 5 or a pat on the back is all it takes most days.
The most respected coaches don't try to get athletes to respect them - they create a respectful environment by showing respect, trust & love
The game has gone so far to one outcome players that can’t play defense & a lot of swing/miss that I think in these next 5-7 years old school, hard nosed, get em on, get em over, get em in type players / teams will come back around & take the game back over. Once one team commits to it & wins through fundamentals/team 1st baseball everybody will. @HittersUniv

Open to all opportunities!
A team is only as good as its leadership. With great leadership, a team can reach its potential and achieve great success. With poor leadership, a team can fall apart and fail miserably.
Your athletic career is most likely temporary; your character lasts a lifetime. The person you are is far more important than the player you are! What are your habits/routines? Are you grateful, humble, honest. Do you care for others? Be someone people respect on & off the court!
POWER OF FAILURE
"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over again in my life ... 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐈 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐞𝐝."
~ Michael Jordan
I asked an MLB hitter with a top 1% contact rate how he trained growing up:
He has almost 300 hits in the last 2 years
Here's what he said (summarized)
"Student Athlete Weight gain mistakes 101"
In <60 seconds I share how to gain weight & improve athletic performance.

HS Baseball Players ⚾️
EVERYTHING you do NOW will determine the amount of success you will have this spring 💯
Practice. Practice. Practice. Practice.
"Failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail"
It’s not up to your parents/friends/coaches to decide how far you go in your sport. Your support system will advise you, guide you & they help hold you accountable, but it’s on you to deliver. Stop making excuses. It’s your responsibility to find time & put in the work! Period.
10 Coaching Tips that Can Make a BIG Impact.
1. SET THE TONE EARLY - Every practice starts with your energy. If you’re dialed in, your players will be too. The first 10 minutes set the standard for the day.
2. GIVE SPECIFIC PRAISE - Instead of “Good job,” say, “Great follow-through on your shot,” or “Loved how you hustled back on defense.” Players grow when they know what they’re doing right.
3. FOCUS ON EFFORT, NOT RESULTS - Wins come when the process is correct. Celebrate the work, not just the scoreboard. Effort is a choice. Make it the standard.
4. BE CONSISTENT WITH DISCIPLINE - If it’s a rule on Monday, it’s still a rule on Friday. Consistency builds trust and culture. You are what you allow.
5. MODEL THE BEHAVIOR YOU EXPECT - Want your players to stay calm under pressure? Show them how. Leadership starts with you.
6. END EVERY PRACTICE WITH A PURPOSE - Don’t let players walk off the court or field without a takeaway. Even 30 seconds of reflection matters. “What did we get better at today?”
7. BUILD RELATIONSHIPS OFF THE COURT OR FIELD - Ask about their day. Show up for their other activities. Players will go the extra mile for a coach who cares.
8. MAKE FEEDBACK A TWO-WAY STREET - Ask your team, “What do you need from me?” It shows you’re invested and willing to grow.
9. TEACH GRATITUDE - Start or end practice with one thing each player is thankful for. Gratitude shifts mindsets and strengthens teams.
10. DON’T FORGET TO HAVE FUN! A smile or a laugh during practice goes a long way. Teams that enjoy the process stick together longer. “Love the game, and it will love you back.”
Hitters….free advice coming. The most important part of ur body, while hitting, are your eyes! If u keep ur eyes as still as possible, ur chances of correct pitch recognition, go way up. How do we do that? Ur base!!! As solid as possible. If u limit lower body movement, eyes won’t move as much. Lotta lower body movement, more chance of eyes bouncing. Also, and this ties in with the eyes…..best piece of advice I ever got was from Willie Stargell….he said ‘fast feet promote slow hands, slow feet promote quick hands’. Slow feet in the stride, promote minimal eye movement and quick hands. Boom….let it eat!!!
COACHES: Coaching isn't just a job or paycheck. It’s a 24/7/365 commitment to positively impact people, make a difference, and change lives forever. It's a way of life that leads to improving other lives.
“Feel like you’re ready to swing before it’s released”
Many players try to feel this but they do it late then their swing breaks down as a byproduct of being late to load
We work on it a ton, it helps feel like the ball is coming slower + you’re in control.
