16 and 17 yr olds = children, let's protect them at all costs. I earnt my SW stripes in residential care, it's so important that the Govt value and recognise the vulnerability of these children and ensure those who need care get it.
@Adoption_pcast @willquince@educationgovuk@nadhimzahawi It is beyond frustrating, short sighted and dehumanising for those who need continued services - how can meaningful therapeutic relationships be formed if each year end we simply don't know until the 100th hour!!
@simon_armstead @JenniferJ432 What a sweet sister. Our school system is so shaming. I hate being early to a Friday pick up, seeing depsondant faces at not being 'Star of the Week'.
Looking forward to welcoming parents to our Just Right State programme. Look at our kit for self care so we can talk self regulating to coregulate. Thanks @CairnsMoir for supplying our #ScaredGang books. Read more here https://t.co/G12l6tqY5e

With September fast approaching & transitions days now taking place, we thought it was a good time to share the free education resources you can downloads from our website & share with your child's nursery, primary or secondary school https://t.co/durms4mvEP @AUK_Schools
There are a number of reasons we think play is so important. Play helps children and adults connect and build trusting relationships. However, it's important that the type of play is right for how the child is feeling.

💙WE’RE TAKING THE GOVERNMENT TO COURT TODAY💙
Many NHS workers didn’t have safe PPE🚨
>880 health+social care workers died
Meanwhile, ministers gave💰to friends + associates in PPE contracts (some was unusable😮)

Pls RT to spread the word👍
There are many ways to support those who foster and adopt and their children. Here’s our recorded webinar - loads of practical stuff and some theory too. Please share.

We all talk a lot about trauma responses - flight, fight, freeze & fawn but what do these involuntary responses look like? We use these responses to help us feel like we are surviving the trauma & sometimes they get very embedded.
What a brilliant second session we've just had! 🎉Thank you to everyone who joined us! Tickets are now available for our third session coming up on 17 May from 3-4:30pm, where we'll be talking about the value of early permanence. Sign up here for free: https://t.co/lXsRrUBW3q
Our earliest experiences shape key neural networks responsible for stress regulation, attachment & more. Early adversity & relational poverty increase risk while attuned, nurturing builds resilience. Strong evidence to support home visiting programs like @HFAatPCA@PCAAmerica
📣Get involved in our new inquiry! We would love to hear from adopted young people & adults, adoptive parents, social workers, academics & other professionals. Take part via our online surveys:

Remember the coke bottle analogy; all the 'small' sensory dysregulations, all the 'small' transitions, all the 'small' interactions navigating relationships, even before learning. A great reminder from @AdoptionUK on after school restraint collapse
After school restraint collapse is real & many of our children could be feeling it with the return to school. Back in Sept, @AUK_Schools blog addressed how we can help our children deal with the post school collapse. We thought it was worth sharing again: https://t.co/Fmjp6BngAA
@KatharineSJ 100% agree. The vulnerabilities for our teenagers 'in care' are exceptional, the nurture and support needed at this age needs to be exceptional.
