For me, it’s always been about Plymouth. An update with some news on my campaign to bring the new Type 26 Global Combat Ships to our proud military City.
Extraordinary that a Labour parliamentary candidate, being described as a politician despite never having been elected anywhere, is given a local newspaper column four years before any election to build a profile. Naked bias from @Plymouth_Live, as if you ever needed it..

This is excellent from @CharlotteHollo - we need more women’s voices in politics and Charlotte’s latest column shows why she would make a top MP: clear, down to earth and determined.
Fully support @JohnnyMercerUK's campaign to bring the Type 26 frigates to Plymouth I am pleased he has secured a meeting with the Minister today. I have long worked with the team of Johnny Mercer MP, Gary Streeter MP and the Conservative Administration on Plymouth City Council.
@LukePollard@PlymouthHerald You understand the difference between calling for something (which you do for everything) and actually campaigning for something and delivering it? Have you done that? No you haven’t Luke. You call for everything and deliver nothing. That’s where you and Johnny will always differ
Morning #Plymouth. Today we launch a huge campaign to have ALL of the new Type 26’s based in Plymouth. With a decision due before the summer, its a prime opportunity for the Government to recommit to Defence in our City. I’m determined to make it so.
All you are going to get from the Labour Party in Plymouth is anti-Gov't propoganda rubbish. Here is a bold, forward looking vision for Plymouth. Take a look; we have a bright future. Vote @Conservatives at the locals next month https://t.co/7X7Mv6Bey0
Time to take more honest & strategic look at how we ‘do’ healthcare. We know about the gap btwn supply & demand; we have to meet this, not just ask staff to do more with less. Chief Executive of @NHSEngland in front of me on the @CommonsHealth today. Well worth the full 2 minutes
A message for #Plymouth at the end of a sad day for jobs in our City. It is not acceptable that we can be led up the garden path around jobs/a growing Royal Navy, and have announcements like this with no warning. Commitment to our City only hardens on days like today.
Starting to come down pretty hard in Munich now, but it’s been a good conference for the PM. Resilient, robust when challenged. Let’s get this BREXIT done..
