@That80sG@1anre I think they just decided it was not financially feasible but I might be misremembering. Yeah I saw that re: the M-346 - amazing! We did an episode on Canadians flying that in Italy, super cool plane.
The Siskin will essentially be as capable, more economic, and BY FAR the most important metric, FAR SAFER than the Tutor for the Sbowbirds. Extremely sick of seeing politicians who couldn’t care less about military capabilities attempt to make hay over this. #snowbirds#RCAF

@JohnBouras3230@MidOfficer I’m still an F35 advocate, I don’t think the Gripen has the chops. I’d say the BEST solution might be an F35 fleet for strike missions and Gripens for NORAD type stuff but we don’t have the people for a mixed fleet.
As to ending the Snowbirds…
@MidOfficer@NoahGairn Hmmmmm I’m not sure we’ve had anything THAT bad lol. Maybe the current Cyclone debacle. Current headline: “Cyclone helicopters won’t be fully operational until 2029 - 25 years after contract was signed”
“I could actually hear my eardrum rupture.”
Captain Troy Clarke describes the decompression emergency that ended his fighter pilot career during RCAF training.
