Google Search + LLM is insanely useful and efficient
Have been trying out the new google Lab feature and find that I donโt click on any links anymore and just wait for the LLM to summarize the information. Going to change the game when it becomes widely available ๐คฏ๐คฏ
Upon doing some research why are Thank You notes after interview so polarizing?
Seeing people adamantly say don't send them vs. others arguing they are essential. Personally, I always send a thank you note appreciating the interviewers time. But whats best practice?
@iverma Totally agree. Apple sells membership to a "community"; blue vs. green bubble, facetime, apps being optimized for iphone etc.
Gives people with iphones a sense of belonging and those without one feeling like the odd one out.
I'm super impressed by people that are able to tweet and create content consistently. The time, the creativity and the energy to post even a few times a day is harder than it looks.
High value skill in the coming future - being able to recognize BS and have your own opinion
(harder than it sounds if one of the preeminent minds of our generation is concerned about it)
i am nervous about the impact AI is going to have on future elections (at least until everyone gets used to it). personalized 1:1 persuasion, combined with high-quality generated media, is going to be a powerful force.
Here it is, Google has integrated AI into search
Initial thoughts:
-The UI integration is great - we are used to Google searching. Probably always the plan given how lackluster Bard was compared to GPT
-Microsoft had a head start with consumers but Google does it better...again.
Google is about to receive the biggest update in its history.
Artificial intelligence will be integrated directly into the search engine.
Here's what's new and how to activate the feature (thread):
I genuinely feel that I learn more useful information about the practice of law during one actual "lawyer task" (e.g. sitting in on a mediation, pretrial conference, settlement negotiation etc) than I do in 80% of my law school courses.
@Biglawnetwork Interesting question.
AI startups have no chance competing with WestLaw and Lexis (once they integrate LLMs) in legal research space.
For writing/drafting documents I agree with your sentiment.
Curious about the margins in general on AI but I think theyโll be better with time
I think one of my weird takeaways from looking at LLMs is that language is more strategic than was generally assumed and extremely rich in implicit information.
Are there networking events for lawyers post grad and where do people find them lol?
For associates from different firms and various expertise. #lawtwitter Is it just a matter of knowing the right people or just going to CLE's?
Just learned that Twitter/X throttles new accounts to verify they're human? (makes sense why I don't have 1 million followers then)
Regardless just got the green light; I am definitely a person and not GPT4 posing as a law student...

Haven't read the paper yet but this is fascinating. Initial thoughts:
-Textualism/Judge's role being reduced to a statistical AI interpretation is concerning (Thanks Scalia?)
-Curious, from a judiciaries perspective, whether contract interpretation can be "data driven"
How can courts and lawyers use LLMs for interpretation?
Generative interpretation offers a way to improve the judicial craft. Along the way, it raises some big questions about how we do interpretation today and how we'll do it tomorrow.
Extra! Extra! Read all about it!
@chernobelskiy An 18 year old can learn as much, if not more, by watching Youtube videos and following the right ppl on Twitter (X?)
College just provides a structure where you HAVE to learn - if you are a person who can motivate yourself on your own you don't need a $100k institution to do so
