@chaskinando In the US, people have to pay to get their kids enrolled on a team. They are stuck in HS sports. Then they're stuck in the NCAA. Pulisic was playing for dortmund as a kid.
Everywhere else you climb the ladder fast until you get to your skill level so you can develop.
@ixnayamscray@Trout0fDoubt@davebftv Huh? we're relying on the future of soccer to people who are born and immediately leave the US? I said fix the system, that means making soccer more accessible in the US, and its updating our league as well, US has plenty of fans we just lack quality competition.
@rushicrypto US asked to have a team removed from the tournament because the US decided to bomb their country. anyone who is at the world cup ought to boo the US. not complicated. if the US can remove a country, they can remove any country, and then what is the world cup?
@ryansymmes@ZachCohenFB because quality is poor. mls is one of the most profitable leagues because ticket prices are high while player salaries rank very low compared to top leagues. if NFL owners didnt also own MLS franchises - soccer would be enormous in the states.
@divaUTD_ They arent architects, they are sports fans. And after this world cup is over, there are zero competitive soccer matches scheduled to be played here ever. and no indication that will ever change. As beautiful as the stadiums are in europe, its the competition they go for.
@xomarxyz It's because we're all about profit. We would rather spend on the stadium than field teams with quality players. MLS is the most profitable league because they charge the highest prices while paying our low (in comparison) salaries. No sports only business.
@xQueen_Piscesx@YIMBYman Everybody knows Americans can't play. Everybody says that. The best players on the team were developed abroad because the US doesn't develop talent. A country of this size should have a significant number of players across the top leagues. (Plus our MLS stinks)
@JonnyRoot_ Where's the line about the US asking for teams to be removed from the tournament because the US started a war against them?
Trying to get a team removed not based on merit seems to be worthy of booing at a sports tournament.
@PolymarketSport The US said Iran - a team that qualified for the world cup shouldn't play because the US started a war against them.
Yes they are very obviously getting booed at the world cup.
@Facts0601 Sure if it's red vs blue, hunter is doing a great job.
But if it's about actually make the country better, holding people accountable, and delivering results for the American people. Unfortunately it isn't blindly following whoever claims to be a democrat.
