@krismicinski I’ve never heard so much screeching from the pro AI crowd in my life. They genuinely take pleasure in seeing some very smart people feel absolutely defeated.
@ai_overnight@flowersslop The thing is, little is gained in these results. No one knows why it made the decisions it made. We aren’t smarter because of it, people won’t give talks on how it was solved, people won’t be inspired to pursue math etc.
@cwizzleyy@stupidtechtakes No, that’s due to improved means of production. Any excess materials just leads to more production of bullshit to chance profits, it’s production for profit not use. We could end poverty today if we wanted to, we already have more than enough food and waste plenty.
@cwizzleyy@stupidtechtakes The question is why do we need so many resources? We have enough steel, aluminum, etc. we already produce so much shit that’s just thrown away. How will more metals improve the human condition?
@BrianG12321@Truthful_ast Why do we need to think in this scale? Who will it benefit? Will it improve how individuals feel about their lives, how satisfied they are? How much they want to kill themselves? Because all that has gotten worse.
@metalgearobama It’s funny to think that there some hidden way to make a big boom that we don’t know about already. We know where energy is and how to release it!
