Interesting observation:

Indians I notice keep talking about how Indians built US Technology Giants

Yet I have never seen too many Chinese claiming Chinese built American AI and how 50% of the AI Engineers in US are Chinese origin

China looks at its own country, decides goals and pursues their own game plan and strategy

No Self Pity

No tall claims

No abusing Elon Musk

They just decide to do their own thing

Result - Huawei, BYD, Space Station, Beidou, Unitree, Cambricon, Deepseek, Manus, Kimi, Moorethreads and the list goes on and on

That is what India should do

Not throw a pity party with coping mechanism all the time

How Kanpur is Losing its Economic Future

When local citizen-led pages like @KanpuriyaFeed @kanpursneed etc and other individuals need to post 24/7 on X just to get basic streetlights, clear garbage dumps, and patch broken roads, it isn't just a minor civic complaint. It is a full-scale structural crisis. While we are kept distracted fighting for bare-minimum survival, our city's long-term economic growth is slipping away.
Look at the hard, period-to-period data tracking the Gross District Domestic Product (GDDP) at current prices, officially released by the UP Directorate of Economics & Statistics:
•The Pre-Pandemic Baseline (FY 2018–19):
◦Lucknow GDDP: ~₹75,000 Crore
◦Kanpur Nagar GDDP: ~₹61,000 Crore
(A manageable economic gap of ~₹14,000 Crore)
•The Post-Pandemic Reality (Recent Government Baseline):
After years of rapid new-age infrastructure expansion in Lucknow and stagnation in the Kanpur
◦Lucknow GDDP: Surged past ₹1,40,904 Crore (~87.8% massive growth rate )
◦Kanpur Nagar GDDP: Lagged behind at ₹76,440 Crore (~25.3% slow growth)
The gap between us has officially exploded to over ₹64,000 Crore.

The Brutal Reality: Slipping in the Rankings
While UP’s GDP is scaling aggressively, Kanpur is losing its historical title as the state's financial powerhouse . Currently , Lucknow firmly holds Rank 2 in the state's economic hierarchy. Meanwhile, Kanpur Nagar has dropped behind, lingering around Rank 5 or 6.
The math behind this drop tracks Gross Value Added (GVA) across industry and services. GVA measures the actual net wealth generated by local businesses and factories. Kanpur’s low GVA baseline proves that new-age wealth-generating companies are actively skipping our gridlocked zones. Broken connectivity and basic utility failures drastically inflate operational costs, choking local business growth before it even starts.

The Deep Psychological & Administrative Trap

1) The local administration frequently treats routine, basic maintenance—like replacing a broken streetlight or filling a cratered road—as a historic victory. They use standard public service duties as a public relations shield.

2) Because we have to agitate so aggressively on social media just to get functional utilities, we experience collective relief the moment a basic complaint is resolved. We celebrate the bare-minimum baseline as if it were actual progress.
While our collective energy and focus are entirely drained by everyday survival, we are left with zero bandwidth to question the absence of massive modern corporate zones, IT parks, or competitive economic hubs and other industrial investment

3)High value corporate investments skip Kanpur due to poor livability, local salaries remain capped for years . Our brightest youth do not want to leave home, but they are forced into a massive brain drain to Lucknow, Noida, or Bengaluru—not out of choice, but simply to access a decent standard of living and fair wages.

Routine maintenance is not a favour . it is the absolute baseline required . If Kanpur is to genuinely fuel the state's macroeconomic targets, the local administration must stop treating basic maintenance as an achievement and we need to focus on questions about high paying economic zones, Bithoor corridor which is already approved by govt , industrial zone which can generate employment and increase the median of per capita income . Fix the basics systematically, so Kanpur can finally build the modern, high-salary economic future it rightfully deserves!

10 days after our investigation into the rupture inside the Election Commission, the poll watchdog has told all 20 states where SIR is over to run a “special drive” to bring back voters “left out” of the rolls.

State CEOs have been told to identify voters deleted as unmapped or for “logical discrepancy” and that BLOs should go house to house to help bring them back. They will use Form 6 to apply for inclusion of such “left out” voters.

And the question added to Form 6 in July, asking whether your parents were on the last SIR roll, which one Commissioner called “unauthorised/illegal,” now applies only during the “SIR phase.”

What does that mean? In the 20 states where SIR is over, “left out” voters and first-time voters will use the plain statutory Form 6, without the question seeking details of their family’s link to the last SIR.
