@bloodstreamrunz@3BostonBoys@KinderheimRune@TrueSlazac If you want to do that then go into the schools of jurisprudence (Maliki, hanafi, hanbali, shafii, twelver, ismaili, etc.). That’s more of an equivalent to splitting Protestantism than the Shia Sunni split is to Anglicanism, Methodism, baptism, Lutheranism, Presbyterianism, etc.
@bloodstreamrunz@3BostonBoys@KinderheimRune@TrueSlazac Splitting Islam into its 3-5 over-arching denominations is different to dividing Protestantism into its particular sects. In not doing the same for Shia/sunni Islam and into their individual schools of jurispudence
@GenesisX_dev@Khantomm There are pretty significant Shia populations in Saudi, Lebanon, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Kashmir. Ibadis in Oman and Libya/algeria. Perhaps alawites in Syria/Lebanon and alevis in eastern Anatolia if you want to include them as Muslim or as a seperate grouping
@3BostonBoys@KinderheimRune@TrueSlazac 3 isn’t that complicated, it’s pretty easy to include them in religious maps of the Islamic world. If you can do it for Christianity you can certainly do it for Islam

@TambovGlasser@vvvorvvtorvitor@chlorbee The people’s front of Judea issue is a joke about the splintering of left wing politics in 1970s Britain. The babies bit is that they spend so much time debating about unimportant issues that their desired revolution gets nowhere
@starssfcb@sulkfenomeno@Rzj77_ Not inherently. It contains the most prestigious (Oxbridge, Imperial, UCL) and tends to have the best universities in the country, but its self selecting and many high-ranking unis (Bath, St Andrews) aren’t in it. It’s based on self chosen research intensity
@__chief____@Lucalis_Main@DSpace212@Paliii_prince What does ‘dog-whistling language’ even mean??
When referring to ‘the pre-modern era’ when you are talking about historical eras you’re either talking about the 19th century, the 1400s and before. Using the 1400s definition only a handful of modern national identities existed
