For those friends are championing growing solar, wind, geothermal etc as the answer to climate change/CO2 pollution in Earth's biosphere/oceans, news flash: coal use just hit all time high. There is no energy transition, only energy addition. The Superorganism hungers...
1/ New research @UniLUT https://t.co/YgS2BW0ui3 presents novel understanding of emerging energy systems, suggesting a switch from the Hydrogen Economy to the Power-to-X Economy, which highlights the essential role of low-cost renewable electricity. #PtXeconomy
Impressive thread was done by the @Black_BirdGroup about defenses in the south. In relation to this subject, I'd like to add additional insights and context. My intention is not to critique their presented report, but to emphasize crucial details that need to be added. 🧵Thread
Here's a graph of Tom Murphy's that I posted in yesterday's Frankly. It shows the weight of terrestrial (land) wild mammals per human being over last 12k years. The slow decline from 10k BC to 1800 CE can mostly be attributed to growth in human population. But since 1800 to today there has been a parallel (steep) decline in animal biomass in parallel to a growing human population. This has been due, variously, to: human expansion on animal habitat, hunting, ecosystem degradation, chemicals, pollution, etc. The general arc: 12,000 years ago there was approximately 100,000 lbs of wild animal biomass for every human alive at the time==>by 1800 that had declined to around 200 lbs per human.
Today, for each of the 8 billion humans on Earth, there remains about 2 kilograms (5 lbs) of wild animals. Like 2 squirrels. Or a big rabbit.
Think about it.

Powering up hundreds of 500 hp to 1000 hp engines every day, three times a day simply eats a whole lot of fuel while sitting still.
Russian trucks & AFV's without fuel cannot keep their artillery & UAV radio batteries charged.

...which indicates all available civilian fuel semi-tractor trailers in Crimea have been absorbed into the RuAF fuel logistics to the Zaporizhia front.
This is an extremely dangerous position for RuAF to be in as the non-command armored fighting vehicle fleet lacks auxiliary

@MAGTravF@_Dan_Ryan Dan, DM me with your email address and phone #. I'm all about alternate energy sources for tactical units in a contested logistics environment. I'd be happy to help an MCU CSC student.
#SCSPTech’s Defense Panel released “OFFSET-X: Closing the Deterrence Gap and Building the Future Joint Force,” a second Interim Panel Report detailing the Offset-X strategy which will help keep our military technologically superior. Read the report here: https://t.co/NzfKU1vQHk
“That's an illegal blockade, and what is needed is a strategy to lift, break or circumvent it.”
🇨🇳 probably won’t lift it, and breaking through it on the water risks an incident. However, circumventing via air is another story. 🧵 1/13
The Ukrainians and Russians had a hectic weekend, so let's get caught up. Ukraine got the party started by sending a naval drone (a motorboat full of explosives) to hit a Russian vessel in the port of Novorossiysk.

@MAGTravF@TPLevine85@zach_ota @WDMills1992 @JooseBoludo Now I’m really confused. What’s the difference between 7316 and 7314? And why wouldn’t small unmanned operators be 03s?
Here is more rigorous analysis on how much warming the SO2 emissions reduction would cause. Unfortunately, this analysis only estimates global mean temperature change, not seasonal change over the Atlantic. https://t.co/z5oVdzpBdf
Massively under-reported science story because there's so much going on right now but...it turns out that we might have figured out what's causing this very scary spike.
Quick thread, on how WE'VE BEEN ACCIDENTALLY GEOENGINEERING FOR DECADES...but then we stopped:
A gentle reminder that the material inputs required to make a single EV can make 90 hybrids...and hybrid technology already exists. https://t.co/ASM6YYxTVl
