@carolkav81 I went on a night tour to Mdina and Valetta , stunning at night.
There's a museum about WW2 in Valetta at Fort St Elmo absolutely fascinating .
I found the local buses reliable and cheap but avoided them at peak times.
The Playmobil toy factory tour is pretty cool too...
@Padraiccleary I ve often thought that an elevated rapid transit system like Vancouver's Skytrain would work well in Limerick on those routes connecting the universities,city centre and major commercial and industrial areas . But like everything it comes down to €€€
@flaneurUK Memories of using these for Renault Agriculture parts , wading through all the variations of each model. It was a great leap forward when parts manuals came on cd rom .
@thecarfactoids I remember a lot of 200s as hire cars for the tourist season, a prominent Irish car rental company had the Rover agency at the time.
The Maestro was a pretty rare sight here in the 80s ,the Montego fared better.
@thecarfactoids My uncle had the turbodiesel version of that , it was surprisingly lively but the engine was a bit rough and noisy, I remember the seating position was very low ,felt like sitting on the floor!
@Colin_Mad@thecarfactoids@autocar @neilmbriscoe @t2stu @DarraghMcKenna@TopOfTheTower@StvCr The demise of BL is a topic that has intrigued me for a long time, that such a vast corporation involved in so many sectors of the vehicle industry could fall in a relatively short time.
@Joedev1956 Yeah , that's true Joe.
I keep an eye out at autojumble and car boot sales for old UK made tools , often get a quality item for small money.
