Extremely grateful to HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq Al Said, Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs for the warm welcome at Muscat airport. We also had a great interaction, exchanging perspectives on India-Oman friendship.
Goa Liberation Day reminds us of a defining chapter in our national journey. We recall the indomitable spirit of those who refused to accept injustice and fought for freedom with courage and conviction. Their sacrifices continue to inspire us as we work towards the all-round progress of Goa.
In the ongoing session of the Parliament, I had asked questions relating to the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) utilisation in West Bengal. CRIF is used for developing and maintaining various crucial infrastructure in India, primarily roads (National & State).
Responding to my query, Hon'ble Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari ji, has stated that since 2019-20 the Central Government has allocated over ₹1736 crores from CRIF to West Bengal. Out of this the West Bengal government has allocated ₹80.34 crores to Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts.
I was shocked to note that the Bardhaman Road Fly-over is actually being constructed from CRIF, and that the Central Government has already allocated ₹61.54 crores towards it in FY2017-18. Further, the Central Government has also allocated ₹20.14 crores for surfacing work on Matigara-Kurseong stretch of NH-31 in FY2022-23.
This further proves two things - first is that entire development work in our Darjeeling hills, Terai and Dooars region are funded by the Central Government, and that the critical infrastructure projects facing inordinate delay is primarily because of the inaptitude of the Trinamool Congress led West Bengal government.
Today, I have written to Hon'ble Nitin Gadkari ji requesting for a thorough structural integrity assessment of the older sections of the Burdhaman Road Flyover in Siliguri, along with immediate action to address the prolonged delays in this critical infrastructure project.
I have respectfully urged the Minister to consider the following steps:
1. Constitute a third-party agency to investigate the reasons behind the extended delays and to scrutinize the utilization of the allocated funds.
2. Direct the concerned department to conduct a technical assessment of the structural integrity of the completed portions of the ROB to ensure public safety.
I am most hopeful that Hon'ble Minister's early intervention will ensure completion of this project expeditedly.
The passing of the SHANTI Bill by both Houses of Parliament marks a transformational moment for our technology landscape. My gratitude to MPs who have supported its passage. From safely powering AI to enabling green manufacturing, it delivers a decisive boost to a clean-energy future for the country and the world. It also opens numerous opportunities for the private sector and our youth. This is the ideal time to invest, innovate and build in India!
15 years of Mamata Banerjee's CM-made Disaster: West Bengal, once India's 'Industrial Jewel', is now a DEBT-FUELED Graveyard !
Mamata Banerjee has buried WB under ₹7.71 LAKH CRORE of Debt (305% explosion since she inherited), chaining every newborn in WB with a per head debt of ₹76,766 before their first cry.
For every ₹100 the State of WB earns, ₹38 vanishes into repayment - double the FRBM limit, while key Departments related to Infrastructure such as Roads (2.2% budget allocation), Energy (1.2% budget allocation), and Irrigation (1.7% budget allocation) crumble.
She squanders ₹1.07 LAKH CRORE on vote-bank handouts in 3 years, starving real growth.
Factories flee: 6,688 companies shifted to Maharashtra, Gujarat.
BGBS? A ₹24 LAKH CRORE mirage with just 3% delivered. Singur's ghosts continue to haunt us - barren land, jobs lost, while she parades fake MoUs.
CAG exposes the loot: Understated deficits, hidden borrowings, scams galore. Our youth migrate as "Parijayi Shramik" while Mamata Banerjee's London & Spanish trips yield ZERO results.
West Bengal deserves economic turnaround, employment, factories, not fiscal fraud.
So, Bachte Chai BJP Tai...
